Who would you be if you could completely reinvent yourself today? If you could forget about restricting yourself because of your location, your age or your beliefs?

The concept of reinventing yourself may sound like an impossibility but in reality it’s not just possible it’s completely within your reach when you apply yourself and take the correct actions.

But what are those correct actions? Well here are a few things you can do today to start your journey to a new you.

Push out negativity

In an ideal world, completely ridding yourself of negative thoughts and actions would be a given but unfortunately we don’t live in a perfect world. So do your best. Attempt to turn even the most negative situation into a positive one because most likely you can squeeze out at least a modicum of good news. Start with your thoughts, and magically your actions will follow.

Don’t procrastinate

If you are truly interested in constructing a new you, don’t put it off, start now. If you want to stop smoking, stop now. If you want to lose weight, start eating healthier and working out now. If you want to increase your sales, take the necessary steps to increase your sales now. Do you see a theme?

Find someone to guide you

Associating yourself with a person who motivates and inspires you will put you on the fast track to a better you. A mentor not only can answer your toughest questions, teach you a new skill or skills and keep you in line even when you are not at your best, but they will also model the proper behavior to head you in the right direction.

Stop making excuses

Excuses make it easier to fail, and who wants an easier way to fail? Well luckily there is a simple solution to this problem, stop making excuses. When something isn’t going your way, find a path to success instead of making an excuse why things are going wrong. If you have a lofty sales goal for your company and it appears you are about to fall short, don’t become an excuse machine. Instead find constructive ways that help you get back on track or to find an alternative path.

Timid you out, bold you in

Life’s too short to be timid, so doesn’t it make sense to be bold? You can never have too much confidence, no matter what anyone tells you. And that leads to the next point: don’t worry about what other people think. Nothing stops self-improvement in its tracks quite like worrying about other people’s judgements. Be bold, speak your mind and most importantly be yourself.
